Old California Lighting
This commission from Old California involved a Prairie Style home that demonstrated Frank Lloyd Wright's revolutionary approach to domestic architecture.
The lighting fixtures crafted by Old California for this installation showed understanding of Wright's design principles during his Oak Park Studio years, with each piece fashioned from oiled bronze and stained glass panels that carried the geometric abstractions Wright called "light screens." The stained glass ceiling panels in the bar area and entrance hall featured warm amber, gold, and red tones that created patterns reminiscent of prairie grasses swaying in autumn light. These contemporary installations maintained fidelity to Wright's original concepts while addressing the practical lighting needs of a modern home.
